Mappillai samba red rice flakes – Poha (Recipe)

Here’s a quick healthy recipy for breakfast with Sufalaam’s Mappillai samba red rice flakes

Ingredients:

  1. Mappillai Samba Red rice flakes – 200 gms
  2. 2 medium onions chopped fine
  3. 1 or 2 Green chillies chopped fine
  4. Grated coconut -1 cup
  5. 1 tablespoon oil
  6. Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
  7. Chana dal – I tblsp
  8. Urad dal – 1 tblsp
  9. Curry leaves
  10. Coriander leaves – chopped fine
  11. Brown sugar – 2 tsps
  12. Salt to taste

Instructions:
Wash the Mappillai samba red rice flakes and soak in water for 10 -15 minutes till it is soft. Squeeze the water and keep aside.

In a kadai, heat oil, season with mustard, urad and Chana dal, then add curry leaves, green chillies, onions, and then the rice flakes. Add grated coconut, salt and sugar and sauté for a few minutes . Garnish with coriander and serve .
