The Gur or jaggery powder in this packet has been processed by boiling raw sugarcane juice over an extended period of time. This has been done in the traditional manner without chemicals and is what gives the product its unique taste and flavor. Gur is considered to have a number of health benefits and is full of antioxidants and minerals. The sugarcane from which the juice is extracted has been cultivated by a family of organic farmers who are registered with the Uttarakhand Organic Commodities Board, Dehradun, an organization that keeps checking on the integrity of farming practices and post-harvest processing and marketing.
